A friend reminded me that it was Father’s Day today. It’s been over two decades since my father passed away and so the holiday has fallen off my personal radar screen. This year, even in his absence, I decided to celebrate Father’s Day and honor my Dad. So Dad, this is for you.

I owe you so much. You taught me at an early age to believe in myself and my innate talent and abilities to be whatever I wanted to be. Funny, that now I am dedicating my life to helping women embrace the same beliefs. You always supported me even though you didn’t always agree with my decisions or behavior. I certainly learned a lot about unconditional love.

I am sorry that you didn’t see how successful I have been; that you didn’t see your talented grandchildren thriving in their lives and careers; a young great grandson who bares your name and who amazes us with his precocious personality and cuteness; and Mom, who continues to surprise us all with her vitality and beauty.

Dad, I want to believe with all my heart that you are looking down on us and smiling with pride.

If I close my eyes real tight, I can still see your warm smile and feel your hugs.

Happy Father’s Day Dad. Thank you for giving me life and unconditional love.

I love you,

Bonnie
